Scott Borcherding
PRINCIPAL, IIDA
Scott has been a member of Bergland + Cram’s design team since 1997. As interior designer, his experience in a variety of project types ranges from healthcare facilities, National Register properties and Fortune 500 corporate offices. His personal interests include an enthusiasm for Prairie School and Arts and Crafts design which he’s pursued by assisting with the restoration of the Historic Park Inn Hotel and the Walter Burley Griffin Melson House.

What are you listening to in your car?
“I’ve managed to find some live recordings of 10,000 Maniacs before Natalie went solo that have been on heavy rotation, along with mix CDs from a friend in Seattle.”
What made you decide to get into your profession?
“I was stripping wallpaper for a friend the summer after my sophomore year of college and I was getting ready to go into Sociology at UNI. After some discussion, she nudged me toward Interior Design. With just a few days to spare, I managed to switch my major, all thanks to that friend who was also my elementary school art instructor.”
