In 2018, North Iowa Area Community College will celebrate its 100th year.  A new STEM Education Center grand opening is planned to mark that anniversary.  The STEM building is an addition to and remodeling of the existing Science building, which sits prominently at the entrance to the campus.  Functionalities within include seven science labs as well as collaboration space for the Math and Science faculty to work and interact with students.  A sandbox classroom will provide flexible teaching space for technology integration.  The overall building concept started with a trend line on the exterior of the existing building, from which point materiality changes, heights, and building elements are charted or graphed in order to measure their progression, thus relating back to the areas of study within the facility.
