In late 2017, a damaged sprinkler head caused a flood throughout floors 3, 4 and 5 of MercyOne in North Iowa, which required complete interior demolition and renovation of multiple units. The project had an extremely fast timeline of nine and a half months from the time of the accident until reopening. The interior evokes elements of a friendly forest, with abstract and playful shapes flowing down the corridor and into each room. Communal areas are punctuated gradient tiles in browns and blues, symbolizing a change in scenery which is healthy for healing of mind and body.
