A joint project between the Mason City Family YMCA and Mercy Medical Center provides recreation and rehabilitation services to the north Iowa area. Working with Boxwood, Seattle, B+C designed this dynamic atmosphere to host a variety of uses including a full range of fitness related activities, a day care and complete physical therapy department. The project received the Merit Award for Excellence in Design from the American Institute of Architects Iowa Chapter and the AIA Iowa Commerce Award for Excellence in Design. At the time of it’s construction, it was one of the largest geothermal project in the state of Iowa.
