The school district’s goal was to build a facility that would integrate new technologies into the classroom, create adaptable space to educate students and provide common space for the community. Set on the edge of a residential neighborhood, the school’s form mimics the surrounding context in its use of small masses and sloped roof lines. Pencil-shaped columns at the entry support the exposed steel trusses of the canopy, which shelters students as they move to and from their school buses.
