MercyOne North Iowa and the Internal Medicine Residency Program have a successful partnership which brings residents to North Iowa from all over the United States. These residents are typically in the program for three years, so a recent renovation project within the department focused on improving usability for training doctors as well as the needs of incoming patients. The result of a successful 3P Lean Design process allowed the department to renovate unutilized administration offices to create a welcoming and clean space for patients while an on-stage/off-stage design allows residents to work in a highly collaborative environment.
