Willow Creek Riverwalk

Bergland + Cram, along with community leaders, members, artists, and contractors came together with intention to make a place, and the Willow Creek Riverwalk came to life. A place that was previously nothing particular is now a gateway for our downtown and a destination for our community. A place for pedestrian pathways to unite and celebrate the music and architectural heritage of Mason City.

Designed around these themes; scale, proportion, rhythm, composition, a song structure emerges as you move throughout the space. Repeating and undulating zones, points of wild vegetation, planned urban scapes, and play. All surrounding the “tada” gateway sculpture ‘Harmony In Light’.

Acknowledging Mason City’s past and heritage, and now an icon for our community, the Riverwalk is truly a destination of discovery and enjoyment for everyone.
