Bergland + Cram’s unique 3P Lean Design approach to healthcare planning is featured in the August issue of Healthcare Design Magazine, The Architect in All of Us. 3P stands for People, Preparation and Process. In association with Flad Architects of Madison, WI; B+C utilized a week long kaizen event modeled after the Toyota Lean Production System to engage staff in a full scale mock-up of Mercy Medical Center North Iowa’s ED prior to construction.
Bergland + Cram recently completed similar 3P Lean Design event weeks for Carolinas Healthcare System in Charlotte, North Carolina and for the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics in Iowa City.
