At this year’s annual meeting, Bergland + Cram accepted the Spirit of Community Award from United Way of North Central Iowa. We are honored to be a part of helping United Way do wonderful and valuable things in our community.
Architect Martha Huntington, AIA, recently contributed to The Journal of the Taliesin Fellows regarding her work on the Historic Park Inn Hotel and City National Bank. With construction currently underway, look for this important north Iowa project to be completed this summer!

Monsieurs Doug, Joe, Nate, Ken and Andy put their heads together during a recent design charrette. That is, an intense session of collaboration, activity and idea generation to work out the particulars of a project. Really, it’s a brainstorming session. But it just sounds so much more designer-ish in French.

“Study for, take and (cross my fingers) pass the NCIDQ.” – Dana

“As a new mom, I’ll try to give my dogs more attention and myself some sleep.” – Kristy
“I don’t believe in resolutions. Why wait for the end of the year/start of the next to do something that is supposed to be important to you.” – Scott S
“To be able to keep up with all of my kids activities!” – Mike
“On New Years Eve I was walking on a gorilla path in the Congo and the only thing I was thinking about was staying alive, so this is my resolution for 2011: Live everyday to the fullest and be considerate to all.” – Randy
